The Relationship between Simple and Multiple Mental Health and Attachment Styles and Relgious Attitudes of Students

Abstract:
This study aimed to determine the relationship between mental health and attachment styles and the religious attitudes of students of Amol Payam-noor University. The research is a descriptive and correlational method. In terms of purpose, this study is a practical one. The study population consistes of 4152 undergraduate and graduate students from the Payam-noor University of Amol in 1393. Of the population, based on the ochran formula, 413 students were selected by cluster sampling. The research tools included Khodayari questionnaire of religious attitude (1378) and Goldberg mental health questionnaire (1972) and attachment style questionnaire of Hazan and Shaver (1995). Using Pearson correlation, multiple regression method was analyzed by using SPSS21 software .
It was found out that there is a positive relationship between mental health elements and the attachment styles and students’ religious attitudes. Regression analysis showed that physical symptoms, depression and attachment styles predict students’ religious attitudes. Findings of this study emphasizes the use of mental health and attachment in religious attitudes of the students.
