Effectiveness of Response Inhibition Training in Selective Attention and Motor Skills Improvement in Students with Attention Deficit/hyperactivity Disorder

The present study aimed to show the effect of response inhibition training on selective attention and improvement of motor skills in students with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This study wassemi-Experimental with pre test- posttest and control group. Sample of this study was 40
students with ADHD that randomly assigned into two groups experimental and control (every group 10 student). Experimental group received 10 hours response inhibition training. Conner’s Parent Rating Scale (1018) and clinical interview by questionnaire of attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder based on Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-1016) were used to measure student’s ADHD disorder severity. Findings were analyzed with Multivariate Analyze of Covariance. Data showed that selective attention and motor skills in experimental group increased in post test after receiving response inhibition training. Accordingly, we suggest that practitioners to use response inhibition training program in clinical situation with the aim of promoting selective attention and motor skills in children with ADHD.
