Developing mentoring programs in Business: the qualified mentee

Abstract:
Starting up a new business needs self - recognition, competencies, skills, market and consumer recognition. Mentee has a significant role in starting up a new business, so the aim of this study is to identify necessary competencies of mentee. The statistical population of this study consists of experienced mentors.This study is done through quantitative method and semi- structured interviews to calculate mentee`s competencies. The sampling method is purposive and the criterion which is used to determine the sample size is Theoretical saturation. Open and Axial coding is used in analyzing the data .The findings of this study is classified into four dimensions which includes: Entrepreneurship features(creative and innovative , entrepreneurship mind, entrepreneurship sense ,risk taking ,tolerating ambiguities,being ambiguous) ,being prepared (like self - recognition ,being aware of mentor position and your position, being aware of the condition and needs of each step ,having experience about how to start up a new business ,team reception), professional business competencies (having new idea , appropriate team and market recognition), mentor relationship competencies (competencies for starting up the relationship, competencies to manage the relationship, competencies to end the relationship) .
