ommunication Barriers Ahead of Mahdi's Message

This paper aims to discuss the potential communication barriers or noises in the era of the reappearance of Mahdi (A.S.) and how they may be employed by the force of falsehood against his message. I argue that Mahdi’s message is going to be plainly heard and accepted by people due to the existence of a common God-given nature among the people. Nevertheless, the force of falsehood is certain to be creating noises in order to reverse the process. Correspondents of Mahdi’s message are thus required to combat those communication barriers. I begin by defining communication barriers based on Gil and Adams’ theory and, among others, say that the force of falsehood would primarily set up psychological barriers as its main media strategy against Mahdi’s message. Next, I discuss how to counter and remove the communication barrier. Then, I follow the Holy Koran to identify and discuss an undiscussed communication barrier, called ‘internal barrier.’ A debate on whether and how the barrier could be countered or removed follows.
