Abstract:
Development means social movement towards the desired. Due to the same result, it can not be followed without entering the realm of hopes and wishes. One of the important concepts and frameworks in social thoughts of Salaf has been Utopian Society which is dealt with, less, in the modern social sciences. Dealing with the issue of development gives us permission to touch it with breaking traditions and analyze its meaning and connotation. According to Islamic didactics, the utopia draws the path, more than explaining the goal; since the target of religion is human perfection and advancing by self. Henceforth, if we consider development as the goal of society, two meanings come out of it: advancement of the ideal level of the social public and providing suitable and accompanying ground for it. This interpretation from utopia has high capacity for operationalization and makes its entering and implementing in development plannings possible; provided that goal settings and its indices undergo reconsideration and expectations level from it promote.
