The comparative study of color in authored and translated children story books in Iran on Painter (2008)

Today, Children's books are considered as one of the mass media devices for them in multiple types of educational, artistic, cultural and other ones that children are dealt with. Considering their age, children are not experienced enough to evaluate and analyze the books contents and distinguish appropriate from inappropriate images which plays a more important role than the text in this period. Because the pictures in Children's books are an inevitable part that visualize the text for children. Then the pictures attractiveness or their repel can motivate them to study or not. The color of images is among the most important factors influencing children. In this paper the method proposed by Painter (2008) is selected for color analysis, 4 book written in Persian and 4 books translated into Farsi related to the age group A and B are examined. The selected books are equalized regarding their subjects (pertinacity, screaming, impoliteness, inappropriate diet). Data analysis showed that generally there were not obvious and significant differences in choice of colors for the images of children in the authored and translated stories.
