Analysis of Communication in Information-Seeking Process Based on Radical Change Theory: Case Study: BA Students of Education and Psychology Faculty, University of Tabriz

Toinvestigate communication category in information-seeking process based on Radical Change Theory.
Qualitative approach, grounded theory. Population consist of BA students in education and psychology faculty of university of Tabriz, selected using snowball sampling. Data analysed using MaxQDA software.
Open, axial and selective coding revealed 9 conceptual categories related to communication in online information-seeking. The identified conceptual categories are capacity and characteristics of cyberspace as a medium of communication, students’ communication network while seeking information in cyberspace, the effect of cyberspace on students’ trust, the way of sharing personal information in cyberspace, the way of sharing inner feeling in cyberspace, the effect of cyberspace on willingness to do collaborative works, the way of applying cyberspace in collaborative works, problem-solving ways in cyberspace as a team and the way of encountering with variant point-of-views.
Students are interested in communicative capacities of cyberspace in their information-seeking process. Although, they do not properly know its challenges and risks.
