Secondary Analysis of Divorce-Related Reasons in Isfahan Province, Iran (2005)

The purpose of the present research prepared on the basis of secondary analysis method is to provide answer to the two following questions; “What are the reasons of requesting for getting divorced among those who refer to Isfahan Divorce Reduction Centers?” and “What are the affecting factors on divorce request in couples referring to stated centers in Isfahan?”. Trying to find answer to the above questions, the researches analyzed all the data in 2891 divorce files found in Isfahan Divorce Reduction Centers through data secondary analysis. On the basis of the results, 27 reasons were recognized among which “Loss of moral understanding” (15.8%) and “Relatives’ Interference” (13.4%) had the highest frequency. Furthermore, in regard to testing hypotheses, the results show significant relationship between “age”, “level of education”, “number of children”, “sexual disorders”, “having any crime history”, “the person offering divorce request for the first time”, “the way the person refers to Divorce Reduction Centers”, as independent variables from one side and “reasons of requesting for getting divorced” as dependent variable one the other side. No significant relationship was found between “couples ‘previous acquaintance” and “reason of requesting for getting divorced”.
