Abstract:
Zagros forests have suffered for the long term, historically; due to natural causes, human activities and drought. One of these activities is construction of forest roads which by logging the trees, led to disruption and destruction of shelter and habitat of wild and native species. This study was subjected to investigation the effect of road forest construction on tree species diversity and soil macro fauna at the Ghali Kouh forests in Aligodarz-Lorestan, Iran. In this study, the qualitative factors (diameter, height and crown) and quality factors (healthy or unhealthy, living or dead, freshness and the signs of decay, such as fork of tree species) were measured by two linear transects (50 to 100 meters) from the road sides and on each transect three plots (100m2) with 20, 50 and 90 m distance. We measured richness and diversity inices and also macrofauna species were sampled in the plots. Results showed that the road construction lead to deacrease and then increase of tree species diversity and soil macrofauna. Also height, trunk and crown diameter of trees were increased. In the closed distance from the road, evenness and healthy of tree species were increased.
