Content analysis of the primary and junior high school textbooks in terms of attention to revolutionary identity

Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to investigate the amount of attention to the Components of revolutionary identity in primary and junior high school textbooks (first to ninth grades). The research method is descriptive and the type of content analysis. Content analysis is a research method for studying communication artifacts. Social scientists use content analysis to quantify patterns in communication. Practices and philosophies of content analysis vary between scholarly communities.The statistical population of this study is all primary and junior high school books that published in 2017. Four book titles, "Social Studies," "Gift of the Sky," "Farsi" and "Quran Teaching," (33 volumes) were intentionally collected in the sample. The most attention was paid to the components of "sacrifice and martyrdom", "belief in Imam Khomeini", "negation of domination and anti-Semitism", "awareness of events and history of revolution", The other components have not been sufficiently considered. In the junior high school books, 686 items have been referred to the components of revolutionary identity. The most attention was paid to the components of "sacrifice and martyrdom", "awareness of events and history of revolution", "belief in Imam Khomeini", "negation of ordinary domination and arrogance, and awareness of the constitution" and The other components have not been sufficiently considered. It is suggested that the curriculum of the first to ninth grade be reviewed based on the components of revolutionary identity.
