Accelerating Enforcement of Traffic Offenses Law and Its Deterrent Effect on Reducing Crashes and Offending
Driving without observance of traffic laws and regulations threatens the order and security of any society and disrupts the people of that society. According to the new law on dealing with violations and the increase of 289 percent violations in the year 2016 compared to the year 2010, the need to investigate the effect of speeding up the implementation of the new law enforcement proceedings on reducing the number of accidents and offenses in Tehran is the goal of this study. The purpose of this research is applied and in terms of its method, it is descriptive-survey. The statistical population of this research is the heads of the 26 areas of Tehran's Traffic Police. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect data. Findings of the research show that there is a positive and significant impact between accelerating law enforcement and deterrence from accidents and offenses. As a result, it is suggested that the traffic police take a decision in the quick report the violations registered by cameras for filing violations, so-called intangible officers, and double-leaf offenses. Police equipped with day-to-day facilities and technologies to speed up the recording of violations and increasing of the awareness of people and information on important parts of the new law through the mass media and also immediate punishment of violations such as confiscating certificates, social exclusion and vehicle seizure are very effective in reducing violations and accidents
