Relationship between Early maladaptive Schemas and Business stress: the Mediating Role of the Emotional Intelligence

Abstract:
The aim of current study was to examine the structural relationship of early maladaptive schemas and business stress with the mediating role of the emotional intelligence in bank staff. The participants included 300 staff of bank that were chose by multistage cluster sampling method. Business stress scale with Cronbach Alpha 0.86, early maladaptive schemas scale with Cronbach Alpha .83 and emotional intelligence scale with Cronbach Alpha .83 were administered. Structural equation modeling (SEM) and Bootstrap tests were conducted to explore direct and indirect pathways of study’s model respectively. Results showed that early maladaptive schemas and business stress are antecedents and consequences of self-efficacy in students respectively. The results indicated that emotional intelligence has a significant mediating role on the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and business stress (p<0.05). The findings of this study could help counselors, psychologist, reduce staff’s business stress.
