Appraisal of the Extension of Knowledge Management Infrastructure in Isfahan Oil Refining Company

This research is conducted for evaluating the extension of organizational infrastructure and knowledge management technology in Oil Refining Company of Isfahan from the views of the employees. This is a descriptive-survey research whose population includes all managers and staff of the company having high school, or higher education degrees (2454 people). To select the sample, Kuhn's general sampling formula was employed and 368 people were selected randomly. Data was collected through a researcher-made questionnaire with Likert’s five grade scale. Content validity of the questionnaire was verified by experts of the subjects. Its reliability was tested by Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which turned into 0.93. Descriptive and inferential statistics, were employed to evaluate the results. For descriptive statistics level, mean and standard deviation were used, and for inferential statistics, t-test and Friedman test were employed. The results indicated that there are organizational infrastructures and KM technology in Isfahan Oil Refining Company (probability less than 0.05). Yet, their implementation rates are less than average. Furthermore, comparison of average rankings indicates that the order of implementation of KM infrastructure in the views of the employees of the company are as follows: 1. Software 2. Organizational knowledge 3. Protocol 4. Organizational culture, 5. Hardware and 6. People.
