Subject Index of the Medical Terms of the Holy Quran
some points about medicine and medical objects have been mentioned in Holy Quran. The aim of this study was the extraction and assortment of words and terms related to "Health" and medical theme of Holy Quran.
In the present review, which was conducted by a documentary method, firstly, the medical terms of the Quran were collected and ordered according to the alphabetical order of the Arabic vocabulary and the frequency of each word in the Surah, and, then, the meanings of these words were extracted in the dictionaries.
Over 100 medical terms were found in Quran that be categorized into 4 groups, including anatomical terms (51 words), diseases (12 words), embryonic terms (22 words), and the terms related to food and drug.
Considering the frequency, lexical meaning, and the applicable concept of collected medical terms can help to better understand the medical terms of the Holy Quran.
