Analysis of Investigating the Effect of Police Performance on the Degree of Citizens' Feeling Secure in Jiroft City

The lack of mental security in an urban public environment is a relatively new issue. As the existence of security is necessary, feeling secure is necessary, vital and required to the same extent. Police is responsible to provide the required conditions for increasing feeling secure among citizens of a city. The present study is to investigate the effect of police performance on the degree of feeling secure of citizens of Jiroft. The sample size includes 382 individuals older than 15 years old residing in Jiroft who were selected using cluster sampling. The data were obtained from the survey research and standard and researcher-made questionnaires and different statistical tests. The findings of the present study indicate the moderate to high degree of feeling secure among the citizens of Jiroft. In addition, the results of the study show the direct and significant correlation between police performance (police capabilities, police social activities and police professional behavior) and citizens' feeling secure.
