A study on psychological empowerment of academic librarians and its relation with self-efficacy resources
In this study, the psychological empowerment of the librarians who work in the libraries of the universities of Tehran city and it’s relation with efficacy resources was examined.
This research is an applied study with a descriptive survey. In this research 109 librarians of central libraries in Tehran universities were examined with standard questionnaires of psychological empowerment and the tools for analysis of data were SPSS and Excel.
The results showed that the status of psychological empowerment of the librarians was good with an average of 5.65. Also in other aspects of that, in competence factor it was desirable with an average of 6.09. in meaning factor it was desirable with the average of 6.01. in impact factor it was good with the average of 5.48 and in trust factor it was good with the average of 5.04. Also the Pearson test showed that there was a significant relation between efficacy resources and psychological empowerment.
This paper is one of the first studies to seek a general review on appointment of managers in academic libraries. Furthermore, the provided conceptual model is another value of this paper.
Using the provided conceptual model, the policy of appointment of library managers can be formed in academic libraries.
