The Effect of Mindfulness on Job Satisfaction of Police Personnel: A Mediating Role of Occupational Well-being

Abstract:
Aims
One of the efforts that organizations must do to maintain human resources is to enhance job satisfaction among employees. The purpose of this study was the study of the structural model of the effect of mindfulness on job satisfaction with the mediating role of occupational well-being in the Naja staff of the Northern Khorasan.
Materials & Methods
The research design correlation through structural equation modeling and the sample consisted 217 of Naja Staff Northern Khorasan Province was selected by using multistage random sampling method and completed Five-Facet Mindfulness (Baer et al, 2006), Occupational Well-being (Hinkin, 1998), and job satisfaction (Bray Field & Roth, 1951) of Questionnaires. The structural modeling analysis, with the application of Anderson & Gerbing's two-step approach through Amos -22 and SPSS -22 software packages were used to test the proposed model. Also, the bootstrapping method was used to evaluate indirect effects.
Results
result showed that by imposing some modifications (attaching a route error), the model achieves better fitness. Also, the mediating effect of occupational well-being in the relationship between mindfulness and job satisfaction was confirmed (P < 0.0001).
Conclusion
The present study showed the mediator role of occupational well-being in the relationship between mindfulness and job satisfaction. Thus, by increasing the mindfulness of police officers and reinforcement of occupational well-being, employees' job satisfaction can be increased.
