Investigation of Allama Tabatabaie’s View on Motion in Existence-for-Oneself of the Essence and Existence-for-Others of the Accident

Allama Tabatabaie considers the essential and accidental motions to be the same as motion in existence-for-oneself of the essence and existence-for-others of the accident. He believes that motion does not occur in existence-in-oneself of the essence and accident. The present article investigates and reviews Allama’s reason for this view, concluding that the occurrence of motion in existence-in-oneself of the essence and accident is not impossible. Besides, there are other findings as follows: (1) the accident, while its existence is relative and in-others, enjoys some sort of independence and existence-in-oneself, because the independence of accident is the manifestation and a stage of independence of the essence. (2) one may abstract from the relative and in-others existence of the accident, since it enjoys some sort of independence.
