A Critical Review of Incorporeality Semiotics in the Issue of Soul Incorporeality

Abstract:
Knowing the truth and mysteries of the soul has been one of the concerns of divine theosophists. One of the features of soul is its incorporeality which must be proved; otherwise some issues such as resurrection would be thrown into doubt. Some theosophists have develped different criteria for defining incorporeality. The raised question in this respect is that which definition is more comprehensive? Using a descriptive-analytical method, the researcher has defined his intended meaning of soul and incorporeality, then, has mentioned the criticisms leveled against this definition. It is concluded that with respect to the available criticisms such comprehensiveness of this definition and the advancement of empirical science and inclusion of such a definition to the materialistic matters which could not be sensed with apparent senses. However, it is concluded that the given present definitions are ambiguous; therefore, the researcher presents his suggestions in this regards.
