The Role of School Organizational Culture and Self-Regulation in predicting Achievement Motivation of High School Students

The aim of this research was to study the role of school organizational culture and self-regulation in anticipating achievement motivation of students. The research method was descriptive by correlation coefficients. The population was all the high school students in Parsabad city in academic year of 1394-1395 (N = 1532). The sample included 120 students who were selected by random cluster sampling. The school culture questionnaire, self-regulation questionnaire and achievement motivation questionnaire were used to collect the data. The data were analyzed by correlation coefficients of Pearson and multiple regression. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between achievement motivation with school organizational culture components of therelationship between students and teachers (r = 0.44), didactic occasions (r = 0.49), expectations (r = 0.37) and self-regulation (p >0.01(. The results of regression analyses showed that 39% of all the variance of achievement motivation was predicted by school organizational culture and 37% of it was determined by self-regulation. These results have some suggestions to counselors, managers and all education system agents to obviate psychical and educational problems of the students and also for advancement of their achievement motivation.
