The discriminational role personality traits in discrimination of students with internet addiction (test of three personality models of Costa & McCrea, HEXACO and alternative Zuckerman-Kuhlman)
The considering the discriminational role personality traits in discrimination of students with internet addiction: study of three personality models of Costa & McCrea, HEXACO and alternative ZuckermanKuhlman. The research design was a two-group diagnostic function. The statistical population consists of all the male students of high school Rey city in year academic 2017-2018 to 4000 male students. For that 30 male students with internet addiction and 30 male student’s internet addiction were picked through convenience sampling and Young's internet addiction test (1998), revised neo personality inventory of Costa and McCrea (1992), HXACO–60 scale of Ashton and Lee (2009) and Zuckerman-Kuhlman personality questionnaire (2002) were administered to them and were analyzed using discriminant analysis. The results of the discriminant analysis showed that v personality models of Costa & McCrea, HEXACO and alternative Zuckerman-Kuhlman male students can help to prediction internet addiction. The function discriminant analysis assigned 90/1 percent of the male students with and without of internet addiction. The findings clarified the importance of personality traits in distinguishing male students with and without internet addiction; hence these factors can be used in prevention of internet addiction by counselors and psychologists .
