Role of Islamic work ethics in organizational vitality (Case study)

Abstract:
Introduction

Islamic work ethics (IWE) regards creative work as a source of happiness and perfection, and believes that hard working people are likely to succeed. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the role of IWE in organizational vitality (OV).

Methods

This correlational study was practical and descriptive in terms of purpose and data collection, respectively. The statistical population consisted of 480 staff members of Ilam University of Medical Sciences. Using Kerjcie and Morgan table, 214 people were selected by cluster random sampling method. Data were collected via two questionnaires of IWE and OV. Content validity was used to determine the validity of the questionnaires, and the reliability of IWE and OV was 0.891 and 0.937 based on Cronbach's alpha, respectively. Structural equation method was applied to analyze the data using LISREL 8.80.

Findings

The results showed that there was a significant relationship between IWE and OV with an influence coefficient of 0.85 and P-value = 0.000.

Conclusion

The institutionalization of IWE provides the appropriate ground for vitality in the organization, leading to increased attachment to the job and ultimately to the achievement of the goals of the organization.
