The Impact of modernity on women’s attitudes toward fertility
Fertility and childbirth is one of the natural events of population which is one of the most important categories of this science as well as important elements of population growth. The decline in fertility in recent decades has been a feature of vast majority of advanced societies. The purpose of the present study is to examine modernity and changing attitude of women toward phenomenon of fertility and relationship between these two and to answer the question whether modernity has significant role in fertility rate. This study is library research with descriptive-analytical method. The results of the research include impact of components and elements of modernization such as renovation, secularism, effects of religious orientation on child birth, relativization of values, individualism, consumerism, modern rationality and socio-economic presence on family decisions on fertility. Also, contempt for motherhood and housekeeping acts, expenses of childbearing and its alternatives are effective in modern attitudes towards fertility. Having a divine worldview, social evaluation of motherhood, housekeeping acts, and changing look towards children increase the tendency to fertility.
