Prevention of mental health of employees working in government departments of Tehran based on psychological capital

Abstract:

This study conducted to predict Mental Health based on Psychological Capital.

Methods

The method of this research was descriptive correlational, the population was including of all employees working in governmental departments in Tehran and a sample of 150 permanent governmental employees among total population were selected according to sampling formula. For data gathering tow questionnaires were involved: Ware & Sherbourne Health Survey (short form) and Psychological Capital Questionnaire. Then, the methods of statistics (like: frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and regression analysis) were used for data analyses.

Results

Results showed that among the components of psychological capital which is meaningful, the hope component has the highest share of the prediction of mental health, and after that, optimism is the second predictive variable that of mental health.

Conclusion

According to the results, it can be concluded that considering psychological capital as an organizational concept to explain the mental health has an important role.
