The Impact of New Technologies in Enhancing Border Security (A Case of South Khorasan Borders)

recognizing the degree of new technologies effect including radars, optical equipment, and the role of other physical factors in enhancing border security.

in terms of its type this study is applied and in terms of its nature it is a descriptive, correlational field study. The statistical population of this study includes commanders of border troops of south Khorasan and the statistical sample is considered as a total number sample. For compiling the literature review of the research and theoretical rationale, the supervisor’s ideas, data collection through library studying of articles, books, and different resources have been used through note taking and internet. Moreover, the experts’ opinions have obtained through in person interviews and preparing questionnaire. The survey questionnaire was the main tool to collect information which was designed as follows. The place territories in this study are the borders of South Khorasan Province for 460 Kilometers in 2011. In order to evaluate the obtained results from questionnaire, first, the options of the questions were coded and then plugged into computer. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS software (t-test and Spearman Correlation Coefficient). In order to describe the findings, the frequency distribution tables and pie graphs have been used.

the obtained results from testing the hypotheses suggest that the electronic systems, optic equipment, and physical determent have very good, good, and moderate effect on border security, respectively.

the overall results showed that the new technologies have a major impact on border security and it prevents the border crime up to 80% and comparing with the other methods (physical determent) it is more effective. The results and recommendations are also presented in the organizational domain.
