Relationship between religious beliefs and identity crisis with drug abuse tendency
This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between religious beliefs and identity crisis with tendency to drug abuse. The study is cross correlation which changes of criterion variable drug abuse tendency) were examined based on the predictor variables )religious beliefs and identity crisis). About 200 participants were selected through sampling method which they were studying in the years of 1393-94 at Tabriz University, Iran. For gathering data, three questionnaires of Khodayarifard (religiosity) Myrhesami (addiction) and Ahmadi (identity crisis) were used. For statistical analysis of data, descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis) were conducted.The results showed that the relationship between religious beliefs and drug abuse tendency was significant and negative. On the other hand, the relationship between the identity crisis and drug abuse tendency showed a significant and positive correlation. Moreover, according to regression analysis of predictive variables, the identity crisis was the only significant variable in predicting the tendency to drug abuse.
