The Effect of Training based on Positive Thinking on Drug Abusers‘ Adherence to Religious Beliefs and their keeping self-control
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of training based on positive thinking on drug abusers` adherence to religious beliefs and their keeping self-control. The research method is a quasi-experimental survey conducted on a pretest-posttest basis with a control group. The population consists of the drug abusers who referred to the addiction treatment centers in Khorramabad in summer 1395. The statistical sample consists of 30 addicts who were selected by available sampling after successful detoxification and then randomly divided into two groups: experimental and control. The research instrument was questionnaires about adherence to on temple religious beliefs and Tanji self-control. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (multivariate analysis of covariance). The research results show that positive thinking-based training confirms addicts their adherence religious beliefs and keeping self-control. Therefore, realizing the role of positive thinking in confirm addicts in their adherence to religious beliefs and keeping self-control is considered one of the main objectives of research work in the improvement of addicts ‘condition and so, offering training by courses in addiction treatment centers is recommended.
