Assessing the impacts of cordon pricing policy on air pollution of central part of the city of Isfahan

Nowadays, transportation demand management is considered as a solution to more efficient usage of transportation resources of a society. In order to achieve this objective, different types of policies including pricing policies in restricted area could be chosen. By applying such policies, which discourage people from car usage, traffic congestion and air pollution would be decreased in the restricted area. The objective of this study is to assess the impact of cordon pricing policy on reducing air pollution in the central part of the city of Isfahan. Therefore, by introducing cost parameters to the existing mode choice models, the transportation demand matrix is updated. By assigning the updated demand to the transportation network, a number of network performance indicators versus different cordon price have been investigated.
