Effectiveness Of Narrative Therapy On Academic Motivation in High Schools Female Students

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of narrative therapy on increasing academic motivation in high schools female students. The Sample of the study included 32 female students that have been placed randomly in the intervention (experimental) and control group. The research was a quasi – experimental design with pre-test - post-test and control group. The study implemented the Vallerand Academic Motivation Scale (1989) as data source. The experimental group was exposed to narrative therapy for 11 sessions 90 minutes each. The results of the univariate analysis of covariance showed that narrative therapy increased academic motivation. Among the three subscales of academic motivation, the effectiveness of narrative therapy was only approved on the extrinsic motivation.
