An Analysis of the Impact of Professional Technical Training on the Employment of Villagers in Islamabad, West
The purpose of this descriptive-correlational study is to examine the effect of technical and vocational education on the employment of villagers in Islamabad, West. The statistical population of this study was all villagers participating in agricultural technical and vocational training courses in Islamabad, West of Iran during 2011-2012 (N = 630). The sample size was determined using a sample sampling table from Krejcie and Morgan (1970), in which 242 people were selected using simple random sampling method. The tool used in this research was a questionnaire. The findings indicate that, in general, technical and vocational training has had a moderate effect on employment of rural population in Islamabad, Iran (average of 3.63 out of 5 and standard deviations = 1.4). The results also showed that there is a significant difference between the employment status of the participants in technical and vocational training courses with non-participants in terms of employment, and the participants in technical and vocational training courses have won more jobs than other people who did not attend the training courses. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that 60% of dependent variable changes (employment of rural students participating in technical and vocational training courses) are explained by four variables of work experience, income, education, and the extent to which learners have entrepreneurial characteristics (such as self-esteem, etc.).
