Structural analysis of the Akhtachi deposit using magnetometeric method, west of Hamedan

The Akhtachi iron ore deposit is located west of the Hamadan, in the sanandaj - sirjan metamorphic zone. Field studies, magnetometeric method and remote sensing have used in order to structural analysis, relationship between the mineralization and tectonic and role of structural elements in mineral concentration of this deposit. In the study area, two sets of linear structure with the NE-SW and NW-SE trends identified based on satellite images with high spatial resolution. Then, the total magnetic field intensity, residual field, vertical derivative of magnetic field, upward extension at different elevations, rotate to pole maps were plotted with selection of a network for magnetometric studies. The dimensions and direction of the iron ore ranges and the mineralization trend have been determined linearly with the NW-SE trending, with designing a number of profiles on the anomalies and reversing modeling. It seems that mineralization is formed along the existing fractures of the region, because of the linear trends evidences of mineralization in magnetometry studies. In fact, by identifying fault structures in the study area and mapping the iron high-grade regions, it was concluded that the iron high-grade regions have been concentrated in fault zones and the strike of iron ore deposits is fully consistent with the sub-linear structures with NW-SE trend.
