Construction and Investigation of Psychometric Properties of Marriage Risk Questionnaire

Choosing a spouse is a new and decisive step for both men and women, so it should not be superficial, but careful attention and consultation and specific scrutiny are needed. The purpose of this study was to validate twelvecomponents of Samuel Gladding to measure of marriage risk taking questionnaire. The research design was descriptive-surveying. The statistical population of this study was 300 couples (150 women and 150 men) who were referred to the clinic in Tehran. The research tool was a twelvecomponent of Samuel Gladding to measure marriage risk taking questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha and its validity was assessed by exploratory factor analysis (using principal components method and Varimax rotation) and confirmatory factor analysis. Exploratory Factor Analysis of Twelve Components of Premarital Injuries (α = 0.93), Marriage Pattern Instability (α = 0.83), escape from main system marriage (α = 0.82), Marital Differences (α = 0.85) Problems of Marriage (α = 0.80), Family Related Factors (α = 0.77), Problematic Elements in Marriage (α = 0.77), Experience of Premarital Insecurity (α = 0.71) healing factor of marriage (α = 0.73), presence of painful members in marriage (α = 0.52), place of residence and issues in marriage (α = 0.58) and individual differences (α = 0.46) ) are showed. Confirmatory factor analysis also confirmed the twelvefactor model. Cronbach's alpha was 0.96. The results showed that, the present questionnaire has psychometric properties for assessing marriage risk taking and can be used in various studies and situations.
