An Action Research of the Iraqi Government and Political Regime's Threats

In the new period Iraq entered after 2003, a lot of dysfunctions (the regime's failure because of the unhealthy political disputes and rivalries, extensive official and financial corruption, and a substantial growth in the shortages and problems) led to people distancing themselves from the political class and getting distrustful of the political parties; it all led to protests widening into some anarchist movements. The firs Shia protests against the regime go back to 2011 usually accompanied by anar- chistic traits. However, 2019 saw a stronger version of this movement. Thus, in the following paper the mass protests taking place in Iraq are examined using the action research for analysis. The present paper aims at examining the efficiency of the policies and revealing the problems. It also tries to answer this question that how the current protest will destabilize the system even more in this country. The paper hypothesizes that these angry protests in Iraq are mixed with anarchy and violence and, if not controlled and restrained, can (along with the ISIS threat) face the Iraqi political regime with a serious threat to its existence and even collapse.
