Comparison of Political Thoughts of Ayatollah Seyyed Abdul Hussein Lari and Ayatollah Khamenei about Government in Background of Legal Principles, Scope of Powers, the Role of the Clergy, Legitimacy, Expediency and Legislative

The comparison between ideas that create socio-political changes in a society is very important. In two periods of contemporary Iranian history, there are two important thoughts that have had a significant effect on the subsequent developments. These two ideas include the legitimate Constitutionalism and the supreme leader (Velayat-e Faqih), which established the first in the period of the constitutional establishment and the latter during the rule of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Accordingly, this article seeks to compare between the two sections of the two political ideas. Therefore, its research method is a comparative analysis. According to this question, what are the similarities and differences between the political thought of Ayatollah Lari and Ayatollah Khamenei? Examined their views on the government on the basis of jurisprudential basis, the scope of authority, the role of the clergy, legitimacy and expediency, and law and legislation. The overall result of the comparison between the political thought of the dualistic jurisprudents during the era of the Constitutional Revolution and the era of the Islamic Revolution was similar, the use of Islam in the form of government, but with different perceptions such as the survival of the monarchy and the implementation of the verdicts of Islam for Ayatollah Lari, and the establishment of the government Islam and the implementation of the verdicts of Islam, attention to the legitimacy of the people and expediency for Ayatollah Khamenei has come.
