Abstract:

Sense of place refers to the mental and conscious perception of people of their surroundings, which leads to the achievement of identity in them and their attachment to the environment. Therefore, people's positive sense of their surroundings, which is known as "sense of place", is an opportunity that, if used properly, can pave the way for the creation of social partnerships and thus facilitate the implementation of urban projects. Accordingly, in this study, the role and impact of the Great Hosseinieh in creating and promoting the sense of place in the residents of the Hosseinieh neighborhood and their social participation has been investigated. The method of the present study is based on documentary and field studies and a questionnaire was used to collect field information. Although G-Power software had a statistical sample size of 191 people, 200 questionnaires were developed and completed to further ensure that the data was generalized to the general population. Also, to analyze the results of the questionnaire, SPSS and Excel computer program and to analyze the correlation of indicators, one-factor analysis of variance and Pearson method were used. The results of the questionnaire showed that there was a significant relationship between the "duration of residence in the area" and the "level of education" of the respondents with their sense of place. Also, the majority of respondents considered great Hosseinieh as the main element of identifying their neighborhood and expressed their satisfaction with living in it (74%). In addition, more than 85% of respondents consider social participation to be sacred and a public duty to participate in it.
