Spatial analyzing of urban crime using Geographical information system(Case study: crimes of mass conflicts of Ahvaz City

For this purpose, the main purpose of this study was the spatial analysis of urban crimes with emphasis on the crimes of mass conflict in the city of Ahvaz. The research method is a combination of descriptive-analytical methods and using statistical tests and graphical analysis in GIS environment, the spatial analysis of mass conflict crimes was performed. The statistical population of the study is the total crimes of mass conflict in Ahvaz in 2015. The research results showed; there were four main centers of mass crime in the central part of the city, which corresponded to the centers of population density in the city of Ahvaz. From an educational point of view, the highest crime rate of collective conflict among criminals was with the level of secondary education and the lowest was at the master's level. Geographical distribution of conflict crimes from the city center in the southwest-northeast direction to a wide area of the city and the highest concentration of crimes distributed in the central area, so that, at a distance from the city center, the location of the crime scene has been reduced and in some suburbs, no amount of crime has been recorded. Finally, the neighborhoods of Shelangabad, Hasirabad and Kampolo were identified as vulnerable areas to high rates of mass conflict crimes.
