Investigate the use of QR codes in optimizing paper consumption The new generation of academic books(case study)
The purpose of this study is to optimize substance use by introducing a new generation of academic books. To this end, academic textbooks were integrated with web-based technology. Educational media including text, audio, video and animation were designed with the help of quick access codes and added to the main text of the book. In the redesign of the textbook in the form of a new generation of academic books, 300 pages of printed content of the book were reduced and made available to students in the form of web-based multimedia. Quick access codes could be used by students using a smartphone. This study was conducted in the second half of the 98-97 academic year with a statistical sample of 57 students. In this study, students received educational content using a new generation of academic books. The results showed that the new generation of academic books in the study sample reduces the consumption of 8553 sheets of paper, equivalent to 42.77 kg, which is equivalent to saving the life of more than one tree and reducing the consumption of 1670 liters of water. Therefore, considering the number of applicants, the importance of the quality of graduate education as well as the positive results of using technology in learning, introducing and expanding the use of the new generation of academic books, can play an effective role in optimizing material and energy consumption.
