.Examine relationship between Servant Leadership and empowerment Case study: (Hamadan Province Police Headquarters)

Change in workplace has made organizations to review and revise management systems in order to survive in today's rapidly changing world. Here, empowerment converts to the main topic in relation to management and leadership functions.Servant leaders always show a great desire to develop employees and to impact on growth and development of organization. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between servant leadership and empowerment.

This study was conducted on the employees of Hamadan police headquarters with descriptive-survey method in 2015. The population was 407 in which 197 were selected as samples. 220 questionnaire were distributed and 200 of them were collected. Subjects were selected by personnel number and random sampling. They participated in this study by completing the researchers' questionnaire. The data were analyzed by SPSS software and descriptive and inferential statistical tests.

The results show that there is a statistically significant relationship between servant leadership and empowerment. In addition, the results verified the significant and positive relationship between all of the dimensions of servant leadership such as serving, humility and modesty, reliability and kindness and empowerment.

According to this study and the verification of positive and significant relationship between servant leadership and empowering employees, considering this style and its dimensions are vital. It is suggested that the required trainings in terms of the style of leadership should be directed toward organizational managers.
