The role of Citizens' Culture in the lower Tendency to crime

Abstract:
This paper explains the relationship between Citizenship Culture and tendency to commit crime; and seeks to measure the impact of cultural dimensions of citizenship on the willingness of citizens to commit crime. The present study is a descriptive correlational, and the population included all residents of province, form which 147 were selected by stratified sampling. The measurement instrument was a 28-items questionnaire, with the reliability of 0.87. Data obtained were analyzed by the t test, correlation test, and regression analysis; the results showed that the culture of citizenship in Borujen City is higher than average and the average responsibility component was higher than the other components. Average tendency to crime in the studied samples is lower than the average of all the samples. Citizenship culture variable has significant and negative relationship with tend to crime, and the higher citizenship culture would lead to the lower crime commitment. Social participation variable was most closely related with the tendency to commit crime.
