Application of TPM indicators for analyzing work time of machines used in the pressure die casting
The article presents the application of totalproductive maintenance (TPM) to analyze the workingtime indicators of casting machines with particularemphasis on failures and unplanned downtime to reducethe proportion of emergency operation for preventivemaintenance and diagnostics. The article presents that theinfluence of individual factors of complex machinerymaintenance (TPM) is different and depends on themachines’ modernity level. In an original way, by usingcorrelation graphs, research findings on the impact ofindividual TPM factors on the castings quality were presentedand interpreted. The examination results conductedfor machines with varying modernity degrees allowed todetermine changes within the impact of individual TPMfactors depending on machine parameters. These resultsprovide a rich source of information for the improvementprocesses on casting quality of the foundry industry thatsatisfies the automotive industry demand.
