Religious identity in interaction with the Cyberspace
The present article with investigating the existing theoretical and experimental records sought to examine the religious identity in interaction with the Cyberspace; Therefore, attempting to respond to this question is whether the Cyberspace with the growing advances, can change the collective identities and especially the religious identity? From this perspective, after expanding the conceptual space of religion, identity, religious identity, as well as its corresponding theoretical approaches, using the Pierre Bourdieu theory especially habitus and field approach and also the reflexive identity approach of Anthony Giddens as its final completion, try explaining the subject theoretically. Based on the approach of the habitus and field theory of Pierre Bourdieu in conjunction with the Cyberspace it can be inferred that the realm of virtual life due to its characteristics such as being beyond the time and the place, being interactive, the lack of restriction to civil laws relying on the government and nation, being available simultaneously, having new cultural, religious, economic and political spaces, individuality and etc., includes specific behaviors and habitus which causes changes the tastes, cognition, emotions, values and attitudes and generally causing different criticisms for the activists of this field. Therefore, those who are in this field will have a reflective or rethinking religious identity.
