Abstract:

With the transfer of the oil concession to William Knox Darcy in 1901, followed by the discovery of oil in the Masjed Soleyman oil field in June 1908 and the establishment of the Abadan refinery in 1912, the primary nuclei of the manpower working in Oil fields were formed in the oil-rich regions of Khuzestan. Since then, manpower from outside and inside Iran has migrated to the oil-rich areas of Khuzestan to work in oil facilities. The present study, by combining descriptive-analytical method and statistical method (cliometric) and using documents, historical sources and new research, seeks to answer the question that the human resources working in the Iranian oil industry from the beginning to the nationalization of this Industry in 1330/1951 AD, according to what criteria were hired and organized? Findings indicate that the forces working in the Iranian oil industry in the oil-rich regions of Khuzestan can be studied and evaluated in two categories of Iranian forces (workers-employees) and foreign forces.
