The effect of the performance of supra-regional forces on the security of Iran’s eastern borders

The Middle East has long been an important strategic region for supra-regional actors. Since the late 1980, military navy of foreign countries, especially US, are present in this region under the pretext of providing the security of energy and it should be said that whatever the economic importance of the region to be high, the presence of these navies and forces increase in the region. But, the presence of US forces in the region increased with the event of 11 September 2001 and the US invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq so that US established military bases in these countries and began to counter the growth of Islamism in the region under the pretext of fighting terrorism. Based on the US national security strategy, the gravity point of macro strategy has been creating security for US hegemonic goals with focusing on the Middle East which has received a lot of attention after the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq and, hence, Islamic Republic of Iran is considered as the main and most important challenge center in the region. Islamic Republic of Iran with its geopolitical and geostrategic effects in regional, supra-regional and even global dimensions and the confrontation of completely opposite attitudes of US and Iranian governments about problems of the region cause a gap. Hence, in the opinion of US men's government, Iran is as a strategic goal and it is one of the strategic priorities of the security and foreign policy of their country. Recent wars in Iranian security environment have increased the presence of US forces and their allied (NATO) and have expanded the military bases of these countries near borders of Iran and, more than ever, these bases pose a serious threat to Iran's national security and, more precisely to the security of Iran's political borders (east of the country); So that the borders of Iran are almost surrounded by these forces. According to mentioned contents, the main purpose of this research is the effect of the performance of supra-regional forces on the security of Iran’s eastern borders. The present research investigates the damages and threats of supra-regional forces in the eastern borders of the country by descriptive-analytical method, using documentary and library resources, helping from internet resources and relying on the experiences and opinions of those involved in security-political-border affairs and, finally, it has provided suggestions and solutions in this regard.
