Reading the Book of the Royal Cloakroom (1326 AH)
The office of the cloakroom and the treasury were special offices of the Qajar kings 'court, and the cloakroom was in charge of preparing and maintaining the king's and courtiers' clothes and was headed by the cashier. The present work introduces and rereads the siaghi document, which is in fact a summary of the expenditure or budget book of one of the royal cloakrooms belonging to 1326 AH. From the history of the document, it is clear that it is related to the reign of Mohammad Ali Shah Qajar, and according to it, the total budget of the cloakroom is 6,324 tumans and 9,600 dinars in cash and its material is barley and straw. This document, which is recorded in 4 pages on Nakhudi Indian paper in Nastaliq script and context, is one of the endowments of the late Mohammad Ramezani to the library of Grand Ayatollah Boroujerdi and is kept in this library under number 3863. Given the importance of historical documents in any research and citation to them gives more credibility to historical research, it is necessary to introduce and make them available. This need is twofold in introducing contextual documents because they are more important in researching the economic, cultural, and political issues of states and nations that are directly related to the court, courtiers, and bureaucracy. According to the author's research, the booklets related to the locker rooms are numbered and so far no document similar to the present document has been introduced and read in terms of content and subject matter.
