Crime prevention in Iran's criminal policy and its impact on the performance of the prevention police

Organizational crime prevention action includes those policies or preconceived notions of governance that are adopted with the aim of preventing the occurrence of certain crimes. In this study, while explaining and classifying these programs accurately, an accurate assessment of the effectiveness of these measures on the performance of the prevention police was obtained. The authors aim to answer the fundamental question of the extent to which the judiciary has considered the role of the police as an effective arm of the judiciary in the preparation of comprehensive prevention programs.

This research is of applied type and descriptive-analytical. Necessary data have been prepared, reviewed and evaluated by using library study and by filing and referring to legal sources and internal documents.

The Preventive Police, by providing empirical assistance to the judiciary, has been able to assist this body in preparing and compiling comprehensive five-year crime prevention programs, most of the provisions of which are related to active crime prevention. Attention to the role of the prevention police, media and education are among these policies.

Although the organizational actions of this force seem to be correct in the form of programs, but the vast talent of the preventive police has not been mapped as it should be in the documents. Our studies have shown that the most important challenge in organizational action is the prevention of the crime of the rule of hierarchical thinking in the implementation of the fifth paragraph of Article 156 of the Constitution. The existence of the approach that the police can only play a role in criminal prevention of crime and prosecution of criminals, despite the slogan of police specialization and giving the police a social role as a precautionary measure or action has not been considered by judicial and legislative decision makers. The preventive police can contribute to the effectiveness of prevention programs more than any other organization and institution due to its direct exposure to individuals, including criminals and victims.
