Salafism: A Study on the Diversity of Trends in the Salafi Movement and Grounds of its Formation

The present article is an investigation into the trends of Salfism. In order to do so, firstly the origins and grounds for the classification of Salafis have been investigated; then the classification of Salafi central trends are taken into consideration. In the first part of the article, the sources of splits and divisions of Salafies are identified and investigated separately in three areas of politics, beliefs and methods. In the second part, Salafi trends are divided into four main groups of Takfiri, Jihadi, propagation, and political. The final part of the article deals with the method of religious reformers in returning to the earliest pious predecessors, as well as the differences between these kinds of paradigms with known Salafi trends.
