Ecotourism zones of Dalahou city in Kermanshah province

Abstract:

Planning, management and development of ecotourism industry in line with environmental activities is considered as an opportunity for managers and decision makers to attract tourists and improve economic activities. The present study has focused on location finding and prioritizing ecotourism zones in Dalahou County, Kermanshah province, using GIS and AHP model to provide comprehensive tourism plans, zoning, implementation of useful and planned projects related to attracting tourists and achieving significant income and employment. The results of this study show that Dalahou County has the potential for climbing, mountaineering, winter sports, water sports, nature therapy and nature tourism in terms of location. In terms of prioritization, the water sports and nature therapy are the first and second most popular activities among the statistical population according to the questionnaires results. Finally, the overall results showed that about 87.44% of the city areas have a high potential of ecotourism activities that can play an important role in the comprehensive tourism plan of Kermanshah province.
