Investigating the Place of Interpretive Vernacularism in Designing Infill Buildings in The Historical Context of Dezful By Entropy-TOPSIS Method

Abstract:

Historical centers of urban formation are known as a collection of tangible and intangible heritage of any society, but on the one hand the importance and need for intra-textural development and the design of infill buildings in the historical context of cities, the destruction caused by the passage of time and on the other hand the gradual elimination or change of performance of some buildings, but if this is done in an unbalanced way, regardless of the context and hasty, leads to inconsistency and The old urban fabric is damaged. Due to the need for urban development, the city of Dezful, with its living historical urban fabric, like other historical cities, is in danger of achieving intermediate development. This study aims to investigate the preferred strategy of architecture, urban planning, and restoration specialists for the design of infill buildings in the historical context of Dezful so that it can be a guide for experts in infill and specific designs in this city. To this end, the study was conducted in one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. The research method of this research is interpretive. Also, information was collected through documentary and field studies (questionnaire), and questionnaire has been analysis by entropy-topsis method. The statistical population of this research is 15 faculty members in the fields of urban planning, architecture and restoration of Jundi-Shapur University of Technology in Dezful. The results show that coherence, close relationship, meaningfulness, pleasantness, innovation and finally complexity in the order of priority of components among the three disciplines of architecture, urban planning and restoration among professionals and on the other hand the importance of contextual attention. And the context in historical contexts, as well as the tendency of people to live in modern spaces in today’s world, raises the need to determine the place of a neo-vernacularism, that is, interpretive vernacularism in infill designs.
