The Effectiveness of God-inclined Spiritually Multidimensional Psychotherapy (SMP) in Improving Symptoms of Psychological Disorders and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
The present study aimed to determine The Effectiveness of God-inclined Spiritually Multidimensional Psychotherapy (SMP) in Improving Symptoms of Psychological Disorders and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
The present quasi-experimental study had a pretest-posttest design with experimental and control groups. The statistical population consisted of Iranian Red Crescent Society staff with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in Tehran in 2019. Among people with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), we selected 30 individuals using purposive sampling and randomly assigned them to two experimental and control groups (each group consisted of 15 individuals). The research tool consisted of the Symptom Checklist-90-Revised (SCL-90-R) by Derogatis (1994), and the Weiss and Marmar Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R) (1997) completed by both groups. The experimental group received God-inclined Spiritually Multidimensional Psychotherapy (SMP) in twelve 90-minute sessions. We analyzed data using the analysis of covariance.
The results indicated that God-inclined Spiritually Multidimensional Psychotherapy (SMP) decreased Symptoms of Psychological Disorders and their subscales (P=0.001).
Therefore, psychological disorders can decrease by regulating human activities in different dimensions and balancing them, and thus, people overcome life problems that are out of control from the actual point of view.
