Afghan migrants and development capacities; Synergy of soft power between Iran and Afghanistan

Abstract:

Migration has always been one of the main ways for a human to adapt to his problems. Afghan immigrants have formatted the largest immigrant population in Iran. The presence of Afghan immigrants, in addition to the problems, has also created opportunities for the country. This study seeks to examine the various economic, cultural, social, and political capacities of the presence of Afghan immigrants in Iran in synergy of soft power between Iran and Afghanistan with a descriptive and analytical perspective in the form of a library method of various online and offline sources. The results of the present study show that the presence of Afghan migrants and workers, is effective in the prosperity of production and economic development of both countries, expands trade relations with Afghanistan and attracts capital, plays a role in transmitting cultural values and increasing cultural relations between the two countries. As a result, it promotes synergy of Iran and Afghanistan’s soft power and enables the two countries to support each other in the international arena.
